Facilities at Clapham-cum-Newby Village Hall

We have a choice of facilities suitable for a wide range of leisure and community activities.

You can book the whole hall or just part of it and, if you initiate a booking request through this website, you will be able to see the price before you commit. You will also be able to make several bookings all at the same time. For some customers, and some types of community use, discounted prices may be available - please read the "Bookings Policy" document, available at the foot of this page, to see if you might qualify.

The first time you make a booking, you will automatically become a registered user and, thereafter, will have access to all your booking information. You will need to click on the link in the email to complete your setup. Registered users can easily make repeat bookings and manage their account.

Main Hall

Capacity: 184 people

The capacity of the main hall depends on how it is set out and used. For example for a ‘standing only’ reception, the absolute maximum capacity is 184. When in theatre layout (rows of seats facing a stage) the capacity can be up to 84 depending on the size of stage required. For a cabaret layout (with some guests seated at tables) it will reduce to around 66. Please note that the kitchen is only bookable, for catering purposes, in conjunction with the supper room or as an integral part of a whole venue booking. However, it can be used by groups in the main hall or supper room for the preparation of teas/coffees if not in use for catering purposes.

Supper Room

Capacity: 18 people

The supper room can hold up to 18 people seated and will need to be included in your booking if you intend to use the kitchen for catering purposes.

It is ideal for smaller meetings and can be laid out with comfortable chairs and, if required, portable tables.

Even if the kitchen is not included in your booking, you can still use it for the preparation and serving of teas/coffees etc.

Whole Venue (includes kitchen)

The whole venue offers flexibility for various event layouts. For standing receptions, it can accommodate up to 184 guests as a maximum, whilst a theatre-style setup (seats in rows) can host up to 84, adjustable based on your stage needs. Opt for a cabaret layout, and it comfortably seats around 66 attendees around a selection of tables which can be arranged to suit. The Supper Room, integrated into the 'Whole Venue,' is perfect for smaller gatherings, comfortably seating up to 18 and connected to the kitchen, via a serving hatch and internal access door, for your culinary needs. The Supper Room can also be used as a dressing room for stage performers, using the linking door to the main hall as a back-stage entrance.

Whether it's a grand celebration, theatrical performance, or an intimate dinner, the 'Whole Venue' has got you covered.

Tennis Court

Capacity: 4 people
Location: Yorkshire Dales National Park Car Park, via Lancaster, LA2 8EQ

The Tennis Court is situated at the far side of the Yorkshire Dales National Park car park, right in the heart of the village, and is open to both locals and visitors.

It is hired out in 2-hour slots - simply book the slots or slots you require from this website, pay the hire fee online by card, and you will be issued with the code for the lock.

You can book in advance or you can see what the weather is like and book on the day!

Slots are available from 10am to 8pm, seven days a week, from April through to September. Please note that the court is unlit so the final slot of each day will finish at dusk.
